The Armenian-Azerbaijani border becomes more and more heated day by day. Every day we hear about new casualties and the wounded. Inhabitants of villages caught in the crossfire wake up every morning, hearts filled with dread, thankful to God that they woke up healthy and alive, and didn’t hear any more devastating news from the army. In 2015 alone, there have been 39 casualties in the army. In recent months, Azerbaijan has opened fire with tanks on our borders. And on this border are 18 year old inexperienced children, who are risking their lives every day for the protection of their Motherland. There are also a noteworthy amount of suicides within the army. The evidence for that are the black-clad mothers who regularly organize demonstrations and campaigns outside the presidential palace, parliament, and government buildings. Their sons were killed during military service under unclear circumstances and their cases to this day have not been reviewed and the culprits have not been punished. Numerous forms of media have written and talked about their cases.
And behind all this, the Minister of Defense’s, Seyran Ohanyan’s, wife “terrorizes” the Internet every day with photos that document her and her friends’ carefree and excessive lifestyles.
It’s hard to say what that woman is thinking (if she even has the ability to think or not). This issue should exclusively interest Seyran Ohanyan, but instead he joins in on his wife’s philistine and shameless games. This can’t possibly not worry the public, for it is this man who is directly responsible for the deaths of the soldiers in the army.
In a country where about fifty percent of the population is hungry and homeless, where children are deprived of medical assistance, where mothers, like beggars, collect money on the streets or through the media to help feed or treat their children, where soldier and veteran alike have many problems, Minister of Defense, with his wife, who is the president of the “Armenian Military Doctors Association” NGO, are not concerned with the existing problems or their solutions, but with the showcasing of their bourgeois lives.
Armenia’s Defense Ministry press spokesman, Artsrun Hovhannisyan, recently announced that it would be more accurate to call the current Armenian-Azerbaijani situation a war. This man probably forgot to inform his immediate superior about that. He forgot to inform him that in times of war, the minister of defense does not have time to go home, let alone partake in photoshoots with an elated face. In civilized countries, Seyran Ohanian would have long since been released from his position. When there were publications about the construction of his castle in the district of Vahagni, which cost 300-400 thousand US dollars, and it is unclear how a minister could acquire that much money in a country that is 5 billion dollars in foreign debt.

But as they say, these people are above the law, their plunder is legalized because there is no law in Armenia, and there hasn’t been for a long time. So, Minister Ohanyan, his wife, and other representatives of their criminal regime will continue to photograph their proud and inflated faces for the discussion of the emaciated and dispirited people.
